Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is set to be offered a new deal by the Old Lady following interest from Manchester United. The former Arsenal star has become the undisputed number one at the club and with his contract expiring in the summer of 2021, Juve are keen to tie him down.

Serie A champions Juventus are ready to offer Wojciech Szczesny a new deal to ward off interest from other clubs mainly Manchester United reports Goal. The Poland international has been at the Allianz Stadium since 2017 and has become the first-choice keeper after Gianluigi Buffon left to join Paris Saint-Germain. But the 29-year-old’s current deal runs till 2021 and Goal reports that Juventus' board fears that he might be tempted by other clubs when he enters the final year of his contract.

Manchester United were the first club to give Old Lady the scare as they enquired about him in the summer and have asked the club about him once again amid uncertainty over the future of David de Gea, reported Goal. PSG were heavily linked to David De Gea this summer and it was also being said that he was offered £400,000 a week to sign for the Parisians. However, De Gea put the speculations to rest by signing a new 4 year deal with the Red Devils and reportedly doubled his previous wages to become one of the highest paid players in the Premier League.

Juventus bought Szczesny in 2017 after seeing him succeed in Italy with Roma over the course of two years and now they want to ensure that their prized asset remains at the club. The former Arsenal goalkeeper has made 69 appearances in all competitions for the club keeping 35 clean sheets in the process and Sporting director Fabricio Paratici is set to open negotiations with the 29-year-old in the coming weeks. The report adds that the Serie A leaders are also open to increasing his wage which stands at £3m currently and moving him into Juventus' upper class alongside Aaron Ramsey, Cristiano Ronaldo and even Matthijs de Ligt.
