Jaipur Pink Panthers’ captain Deepak Niwas Hooda is hopeful to continue the momentum they got after their incredible win in the first match against U Mumba in the seventh edition. Deepak Niwas also talked about his love for Pro Kabaddi League and about his franchise owner Abhishek Bachchan.

After winning the first match, Jaipur Pink Panthers are high on confidence. They seemed well in-sync and played as a unit to defeat their oldest rival U Mumba. Jaipur doesn’t have many big names on their side but they showed that determination trumps everything. They showcased teamwork and had a relentless approach.

“We are glad with the kind of winning start we have had this season and obviously look to sustain the momentum for the rest of the long league, We are a young side with an average age of 22 years but immensely talented,” Deepak told Sportstar.

In the match, Deepak along with Amit Hooda guided the team throughout the game. They both reached personal milestones as he scored a super 10 and Amit a High 5. Deepak has been playing in the PKL since the start and has been a witness to the growing popularity of the sport and the players through the years so PKL means a lot to him.

“It is not all about money alone. It is the kind of respect we get by playing in it, that is more important and  just imagine the kind of recognition we are getting across India. The growing fan following is a fair indicator of the popularity of not just the sport but also of the players, too, because of PKL,” the 25-year-old said.

“Well, I don’t feel any pressure but definitely [there is a lot more responsibility. And, this I am enjoying a lot really."

“Frankly, we are fortunate to have an owner like Abhishek sir. I don’t think any other franchisee owner is so deeply involved in the game. And, the best part is the very polite and humble way he keeps encouraging despite setbacks. We love his attitude and concern towards the players,” the Panthers skipper signed off.
