Waqar Younis has stated that Virat Kohli can break all batting records in the years to come thanks to his unbelievable fitness and his "focus on his skill level". The former Pakistan pacer has also added that Sachin Tendulkar is the best batsman that he had ever bowled in his storied career.

Virat Kohli has often dismissed his comparisons to Sachin Tendulkar as ‘embarrassing’, but in a nation like India that has a criminal indifference to statistics when it comes to cricket stood up and took notice of the little road remaining before their young skipper becomes a legend. Though there is still some way to go before that happens, one cannot overlook the phenomenal pace with which the Delhi boy has risen to prominence. And now, Younis has thrown his two cents to the debate indirectly and stated that Kohli can break all batting records.

"The way he is maintaining his fitness and the way he enjoys his game and focusses on his skill level, I think he is destined to break all batting records in the years to come. The way I see it he should go on to achieve a lot of batting records," Younis said, reported PTI.

Although Sachin went on to achieve almost every record that a batsman could have imagined, he always had to face the comparison with the likes of Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting by the masses, as to who the best batsman of the era was. When Younis was asked the same, he decided to side with Tendulkar.

"I played a lot against Tendulkar and he made his debut against us. Over the years I saw him become a thorough professional and I have not seen such a committed player. He was the best batsman I bowled to and it used to be a challenge," Younis said.
