Saqlain Mustaq, who was hired by the English Board before the start of England’s tour of India, has signed a contract extension with the ECB as spin-bowling consultant. Saqlain has marked his stint so far as a ‘good experience’ for him and has also offered his services to the PCB.

Earlier, Saqlain had worked with the English team for a short stint during their home Test series against Pakistan. The ECB roped him in an effort to utilize the experience of the former Pakistani great, who has previously worked as a spin consultant with New Zealand and West Indies, for the tour to India. Saqlain had faced issues with his Visa initially, but he revealed it has been also sorted out.

"I faced no problems and it was a good experience for me as a bowling coach and consultant," Saqlain said, confirming the extension of his contract with the ECB for the three-match ODI series against India, which starts on January 15.

The 39-year-old has also offered his services to the Pakistan team, insisting he would be more than happy to help them out.

"It is a matter of pride for me that I am asked to help spinners from different countries but my wish is still to give something back to Pakistan cricket.

"I am ready to offer my services to the Pakistan Cricket Board whenever they need me," Saqlain added, reported PTI.

Saqlain will assist Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid, who have not had the kind of impact on Indian wickets as they would have hoped for. Saqlain has also helped the English batsmen work out methods of attack against spin bowling.
