All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has calmed down the talk of a rift between him and MS Dhoni by acknowledging the fact that MS Dhoni has played a big part in the team's development. Dedicating his ICC award to his family, the spinner also looked forward to Indian cricket's growth under Virat Kohli.

Recently, Ravichandran Ashwin was lambasted by a swarm of MS Dhoni's fans when he forgot to mention Dhoni's name in his thank-you message after being named the International Cricket Council Cricketer of the Year and the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year.

But he has dismissed any suggestions of a 'rift' with the India ODI and T20 skipper, which cropped up after he mentioned Dhoni and praised Test captain Virat Kohli in his acceptance speech of the award.

"I'd like to dedicate this award to my family. I'd like to thank ICC and most importantly my team-mates. I'd also like to thank the support staff for our success. We've had a great transition ever since MS Dhoni hung up his boots. A young captain has taken over, we fell on the right track, and we now have a new bunch of boys," Ashwin said, reported NDTV.

Ashwin, on Sunday, also retweeted a fan's post in an attempt to put an end to the speculation.

The 31-year old also came up with a witty answer to all the people who were tagging his wife in their replies to his thank you post, by tweeting:
