Bangalore seal transfer of Parveez Rasool and KL Rahul from Sunrisers Hyderabad

Karnataka batsman KL Rahul and Jammu and Kashmir all-rounder Parveez Rasool will be seen in the red and gold jersey of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming 2016 edition of the Indian Premier League after moving from Sunrisers Hyderabad to the Bengaluru side in the IPL trading window today.

The duo, who were retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad in December, were transferred to the Bengaluru franchise on Tuesday as per an IPL media release. IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla confirmed the signings by the franchise and wished them luck for the upcoming season.

“The Royal Challengers Bangalore have made strong moves ahead of the season. KL Rahul is one of the talented young batsmen in the Indian circuit while Parveez Rasool is an asset to any team with his all-round abilities."

“The duo will join a dream line-up at RCB with India’s Test Captain Virat Kohli leading them," Rajeev Shukla said. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad had picked veterans Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra along with pacers Mustafuzir Rehman and Barinder Sran to boost their team. Both Rahul and Rasool had average seasons for the franchise last year and were only expected to play a bit-part role in the Hyderabad side this season.

For local lad KL Rahul, it will be a return to RCB after donning the jersey in the 2013 IPL season. The opener, who can also keep wickets, was bought in the 2014 IPL auction by SRH and played for them in the last two seasons. The 23-year old has played five Tests matches for India, scoring 256 runs including two centuries.

For Parveez Rasool, RCB will be the third team in his IPL career, after turning out for the now-defunct Sahara Pune Warriors in the 2013 edition and playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last two seasons. The 27-year old, who bowls right-arm off-spin and bats in the lower middle order, has played one ODI for India and picked two wickets in his outing against Bangladesh in 2014. 

Rahul and Rasool's transfer comes after the capture of Saurabh Tiwary and Albie Morkel by Rising Pune Supergiants from Delhi Daredevils last week.
