Indian Women’s team forfeit points to Pakistan
The Indian Women’s cricket team have forfeited the ICC Women's Championship points to Pakistan due to their inability to play against them in the sixth round games. Due to this, India have also failed to gain direct qualification for the Women’s World Cup to be played in England in June 2017.
India couldn’t establish any acceptable reason for not playing the ICC Women's Championship game against Pakistan.
Following this, the ICC Technical Committee awarded two points to Pakistan for each forfeited game while it also said that "India shall be considered to have scored 0 runs in each of the 50 overs in each of the three matches and that its net run rate shall be adjusted accordingly."

The ICC have released a statement saying, "It was sensitive to the current state of relations between the nations of India and Pakistan, but concluded that the BCCI had not been able to establish 'acceptable reasons' for not participating in this series."
After the technical committee’s decision to award the points to Pakistan, the West Indies women team, which got thrashed 3-0 in the One-day series against India before taking revenge in the T20 series by winning it by the same margin, have gained a direct qualification.
Earlier, Australia, England, and New Zealand had already booked their berths for the Women's World Cup.
