Proteas Test skipper AB de Villiers called Virender Sehwag's 319 at the Chepauk against his side as the best Test innings he has ever witnessed. The batsman, who has released his autobiography this week, also talked about his love for India, the Taj Mahal and Shah Rukh Khan.

South African Test skipper AB de Villers is a treat to watch when in full flow. His calm and composed demeanor off the field and his sheer brilliance on the pitch, have made him one of the most popular cricketers in the world.

After the release of his auto-biography, “AB de Villers- The autobiography”, he said in an interview with Times of India that his double century in the Motera Test in 2008 was special.

ABD said, “The second Test against India in Ahmedabad in 2008 was a turning point. It wasn't just the score of 217 not out; it was the fact that, strange as it seems, for almost the first time, I felt able to defend properly and play a long innings for the team.”

He also praised the 319-run innings by Virender Sehwag at Chepauk, against South Africa, as the best innings that he has ever seen.

He said, “It was just magnificent. Paul Harris, our left-arm spinner, was bowling outside leg stump, into the rough, to try and slow the game down. But Viru kept stepping away to leg and hitting him inside out through the covers for four. You don't do that in Test cricket, but Viru did.”

De Villers has also fondly remembered the moment he proposed his girlfriend at the Taj Mahal. He concluded by praising Shahrukh Khan for his acting.

“I enjoy every movie with Shah Rukh Khan, and would love to feature in one sometime” he said.
