In cricket, there are some dismissals that leave even the best of players confused. Yuvraj Singh found himself in a similar situation, with a surprised look on his face, when a ball, after hitting his bat, bounced behind him, spun and dislodged the bails to send the Indian star packing.

Sometimes, due to an unfortunate turn of events, your strength becomes your weakness and then you don’t have anyone to blame but yourself. Today, Yuvraj got an example of that.

The incident took place in the 34th over of the game during which India were trying to arrest the mini collapse caused after the quick dismissals of Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli. With the in-form pair of Yuvraj and Dhawan in the middle, India would have hoped to get out of the woods, but it wasn’t to be.

Asela Gunaratne pitched the ball up and while it should have been an easy shot for Yuvraj, the latter failed to read the ball and jammed down on it when the ball had already become a yorker. What followed was almost a slow motion replay of the wicket. The ball bounced behind him and, almost in slow motion, the ball dislodged the bails from the top of the wicket without disturbing the stumps.

After the dismissal, Yuvraj appeared to be completely distraught and couldn’t even believe his dismissal. Yuvraj’s dismissal brought MS Dhoni to the middle and he, along with Dhawan, resurrected the innings and at the time of writing this report, India were on 261/3 in 44 overs.
