BCCI confirms SRH and RR to get replacements for David Warner and Steve Smith
While David Warner and Steve Smith’s suspension comes as a huge blow for SRH and RR with the IPL knocking on the door, BCCI has confirmed that both franchises will be allowed to get replacements for the respective players. Both players had stepped down from the captain's role earlier this week.
With the waiting game now over, it is now confirmed that Warner and Smith wouldn’t be participating in this year’s IPL, which leaves SRH and RR with very little time to mend things. IPL commissioner Rajiv Shukla has now confirmed that both the players, who were on were on contracts of 12.5 crore INR in IPL, will not play and the teams will be given the opportunity to get replacements for the tournament.
"The franchises will get replacements for the players as they (David Warner and Steve Smith) will not be allowed to play this year," Rajiv Shukla, IPL Commissioner, reported ANI.
The decision was anticipated by many in the last few days but both the franchises and the BCCI were awaiting Cricket Australia's decision, which came out early on Wednesday. Now with both Smith and Warner, reportedly, out for a year, BCCI has finally come to a conclusion.

"The BCCI hopes that the cricketers participating in the IPL hold the highest regard for the Spirit of Cricket and Code of Conduct for Players and Match Officials."
While Rajasthan Royals have already named Ajinkya Rahane as captain in place of Steve Smith, Sunrisers Hyderabad are yet to decide a captain. And both are yet to find a replacement for their respective stars. Both Warner and Smith
