This has been the story of our season. 10-15 lesser would've been ideal, should have done better with the ball, we were up to the mark on the field. If you have strong characters, you will always do well," said Kohli, as quoted by India Today.

RCB, who needed a victory to stay alive in the league, suffered a five-run defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal in Hyderabad on Monday. Chasing a modest 147 for a win, RCB managed to score 55 runs in the powerplay with the loss of 1 wicket. SRH bowlers bowled well to contain the batting line up and wickets fell in regular intervals. However, towards the end of the innings, Colin De Grandhomme and Mandeep Singh played brilliantly to get past the score but ultimately stayed short by 5 runs. Kohli was quick to praise the SRH players for holding their nerves under pressure and termed them as the best bowling department of this season.

Though mathematically, it’s looked like RCB has still a chance to qualify for the playoff after having 3 wins from 10 matches; practically it seems impossible, looking at the points table.
