IPL 2019 | All I try to do is keep things simple while bowling, reveals Kagiso Rabada
Delhi Capitals’ pacer Kagiso Rabada revealed that all he tries to do is keep things simple when bowling against the other teams in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Rabada bagged home the man of the match award as he registered his best figures in the T20 format ending the night with figures 4/21.
The Indian Premier League is shaping out to be a close affair this year as a majority of the teams, barring Royal Challengers Bangalore, are pushing hard to make the knockout stage of the tournament. One of the biggest turn around stories this season is the emergence of the young and talented Delhi Capitals side under the guidance of Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly.
The Shreyas Iyer-led side condemned Royal Challengers Bangalore to their sixth straight defeat of the season as they beat them by four wickets on Sunday. South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada has particularly impressed with the ball this season for the Delhi-based franchise.
"All I tried to do was to keep it simple. All you try and do is get the ball in a good area, whatever ball you're trying to bowl and the batsman is going to make the mistake really," Rabada said at the post-match interview on Sunday.
The Proteas pacer ended the night with his best figures in a T20 match having picked up four wickets from his four-over spell giving 21 runs away in the process. Rabada picked up the important wicket of Virat Kohli and followed that with the wickets of Akshdeep Nath and Pawan Negi in the same over.
"In T20 cricket, all the teams bowl cross-seam deliveries, that's no secret. Ishant used it in his first three overs and was quite tough to play. Then the message got out to the other seamers to basically use the cross-seam," added Rabada, who with 11 wickets took over the purple cap from RCB's Yuzvendra Chahal.
