Ellyse Perry, who has picked up an ACL injury in the Women's BBL, is confident that she will be available towards the fag end of the tournament. Perry is confident that Alyssa Healy, who will be leading Sydney Sixers in her absence, will do a good job as she has the experience.

Ellyse Perry, the champion Australia all rounder, who injured her AC joint in a match against the Melbourne Renegades last Sunday (November 17), is confident to return and lead her team towards the fag end of the Women’s Big Bash League. The Sixers had previously estimated that the all-rounder will be back leading them within one to three weeks.

If the prediction goes well, then Perry might very well lead the Sixers in the finals of the tournament, if they qualify, which is scheduled on December 7-8. Perry shared that timeframe of her recovery isn’t clear but is confident to be back before the knockout stages.

"I think everyone is pretty positive about that, it's hard to put a definite timeframe on it because each day it's going to improve, hopefully. I'm not worried about it at all; I don't think anyone really is. Everything going well, I should be available towards the end of the (WBBL) season," Perry told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Perry went on to share that the injury was never bad enough to cloud any of her future prospects, especially the 2020 T20 World Cup at home.

“It was pretty clear, straight after the game, what I'd done. It's just a low (grade) AC tear so, in that sense, I don't think there was ever any real concern about a longer-term prospect."

The Sixers skipper is confident that keeper batter Alyssa Healy will lead the side well in her absence as she has the required experience.

"Midge (Healy) will do her own thing, she's got her own style and flair, and she's a wonderful leader in the group,, When I'm playing, she's very much front and centre in the way that we do things and I lean on her a lot. She's done the job before. She captained us to a title a couple of years ago so the girls absolutely love working under her."
