The increased usage of technology has been a huge advantage to the sporting realm as it adds a layer of transparency to the outcome of various decisions. Similarly, the usage of DRS turned Kusal Mendis’ ecstasy into silence during the fourth day of the England versus Sri Lanka first Test. 

With the overnight batters, Kamindu Mendis and Dinesh Chandimal adding 103 runs on the fourth day, Sri Lanka marched to a steady score of 326 with a lead of 205 runs. Eventually, the decision was overturned and Ducket survived. However, Mendis was ecstatic after taking the catch and threw the ball in the air as a part of the celebration.
