Big-match players often show up at the bigger stages of the game but that wasn’t the case with West Indies vintage all-rounder Deandra Dottin during the Women’s Big Bash League Final. She ended up being an embarrassment due to an outlandish way of getting dismissed for a diamond duck.

Winning the toss and choosing to field first, the Brisbane Heat Women drew early wickets inside the mandatory powerplay. With Deandra Dottin new in the crease and looking to uplift the team morale from times of adversity, she fell short of luck, falling to a bizarre run out as the bat kept stuck at the cusp of the batting crease.

On the first ball of the fifth over. Lucy Hamilton came over the wicket and bowled a good length delivery at Hayley Matthews who clipped to mid-wicket. Dottin, from the non-striker’s end, was too lazy to run hard for the single and she tried to cope by stretching her bat at the crease. Simultaneously, Georgia Redmayne, who’s been one of the keepers to watch out for in the tourney, broke the stumps in a jiffy. With the TV umpire being summoned, the World Boss was seen marginally short as her bat was vividly spotted to get stuck at the cusp of the batting crease. Eventually, the decision went in favor of the bowling team, and Dottin was left embarrassed due to the outlandish dismissal.

Damn!
