Jaipur may not have the air quality or the landscape beauty of England or New Zealand, but it sure does have the ability to produce decks reminiscent of their bowling havens. With the surface featuring a healthy grass covering, Yashasvi Jaiswal fell victim to a beauty from Mukesh Kumar.

Rajasthan Royals had to contend with a tricky surface first up after Rishabh Pant won the toss at Sawai Mansingh Stadium and asked the hosts to bat first. Usually destructive right out of the gate, Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to get his shots away and nearly launched one to mid-on in the first over itself. While the miscue off Khaleel Ahmed landed a few yards beyond the fielder, the young opener was not as lucky in the ensuing over when Mukesh Kumar got the bowl in hand.

On the penultimate ball of the six-ball set, Mukesh steamed in from around the wicket and pitched a length ball on off-stump that seamed in a long way after hitting the deck. Jaiswal attempted to use the angle to steer the ball away with a flick but the movement helped the Kookaburra beat the willow and thump into his leg before deflecting onto the stumps. Mukesh was ecstatic with the scalp given the ability of the batter to win matches singlehandedly, while Yashasvi resigned himself to a quiet sigh and walked off with disappointment writ large on his face.

Twitterati was quick to applaud the brilliant sequence of play orchestrated by the right-arm quick.
