Jasprit Bumrah reclaims No. 1 Test bowler spot with stellar performance in Australia
Jasprit Bumrah has reclaimed the prestigious No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings. The 32-year-old had briefly lost the top spot to Kagiso Rabada but Bumrah's outstanding performance in the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has propelled him back to the summit.
In the batting rankings, Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has climbed to a career-best second position after his outstanding 161 in the second innings at Perth, surpassing Harry Brook and Kane Williamson. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli's unbeaten century has boosted him nine places to 13th, bringing him back into the top 20 after a decade.
Other notable movements include KL Rahul's rise from 60th to 49th position and Nitish Kumar Reddy's debut in the rankings at 74th. Mohammad Siraj has advanced three spots to 25th in the bowling rankings, further solidifying his presence among the top bowlers. Ravichandran Ashwin has also climbed one place in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings, despite not featuring in the Perth Test. His rise comes from Australia captain Pat Cummins' challenging performance, where he managed just three wickets for 153 runs across two innings.
