Twitter Reacts as Shubman Gill Shares a Cute Moment with Pikachu
Shubman Gill shared a hilarious moment before the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders. He met with Pikachu during the practice sessions and the video of the same has gone viral all over the internet. But it was not Gill who was excited, it was Pikachu.

Shubman Gill continues to impress the fans both on and off the field. Right before the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders, the Prince was busy practicing for his team when someone special decided to give him a visit. And it is none other than the famous character from Pokemon, Pikachu.
Pikachu stepped on to the field and Shubman Gill could not control his laughter after looking at the same. He went towards Pikachu and laughed all the time looking at the same. First, he started off by shaking hands with the Pokemon character, which made Pikachu a lot more excited than ever before. Gill could not control his laughter watching Pikachu so excited on meeting him.
When Shubman Gill went back to the practice, Pikachu could not hold up his joy as he met the Prince himself. Even the GT admin asked him how he felt after meeting with Shubman Gill. Pikachu just started dancing on the same.
Here's how Twitter reacted to Shubman Gill meeting Pikachu.
Real Pikachu Reacts
— CineLand (@Cine_Land_885) April 17, 2026
Surely it was not the Real Pikachu who met Shubman Gill in the game. It was someone wearing the outfit of Pikachu, and to this, a Twitter user reacted how an actual Pikachu would have felt.
Pikachu Aura

— SKH (@Skh9864) April 17, 2026
Fans have now started to demand that Pikachu should be a part of the IPL auction. He has more aura than most of the players or teams and he would bag big bucks.
Unexpected Crossover
This crossover we didn’t expect ☺️
— Sonu Jaat • Cricket (@TheSonuJaat) April 17, 2026
The crossover of Shubman Gill and Pikachu was not in anyone's Bingo Cards this IPL. It was like a collaboration between Cricket and Pokemon.
