Both Delhi Dynamos and Mumbai City FC arrive for this match on the back of disappointing performances in their last games. While Delhi were lucky to escape with a point against NorthEast, the visitors were thrashed by Atletico de Kolkata on their home turf. Delhi have a big opportunity to go to the top of the table with a win, but Mumbai will prove to be tough nut to crack.

Prediction

Delhi Dynamos 1-1 Mumbai City FC

1. Delhi's struggle in front of the goal continues

Despite having a playmaker like Florent Malouda, who has created a lot of chances, Delhi have some struggled in front of goal. Having bagged six goals in seven matches, they are the lowest scorer in the league. Robin Singh's form is a big concern and the Indian international might even be dropped for this match. Delhi manager Roberto Carlos will pin his hope on Richard Gadze to provide him the breakthrough upfront.

2. Mumbai's lethal attack against a strong Delhi defence

Delhi's good position in the points table is entirely based on a solid defence. John Arne Riise and Anas Edathodika have formed a commendable partnership at the center, while Chicao has protected the back-four from the midfield. Statistically, Delhi have the best defense in the league, having conceded the fewest goals – six.

Mumbai's line-up boasts of the likes of Sony Norde, Sunil Chhetri and Frederic Piquionne, who have been in eye-catching form and the Blue Devils have amassed 10 goals in their last four matches. With Nicolas Anelka recovering from his fitness problems, Mumbai now have more depth upfront, making them one of the best attacks this season.

When these two forces meet on the pitch, the most probable result remains a low scoring match.

3. Mumbai's dismal away record

This is Mumbai's first away match after five back-to-back home games and the men in blue have a poor away record. Since the inaugural season, Mumbai have played nine games on the road so far, and they are yet to win one. Their search for the first away win is likely to be prolonged by Delhi tonight.
