India’s new poster boy of football and Kerala Blasters’ striker CK Vineeth has appealed the amazing home fans to maintain calm and not to ‘bring disrepute to the state or the stadium’. Kochi have been awarded the venue for the final of the 2016 Indian Super League.

Kerala Blasters have consistently attracted crowds of 50,000 plus for every home games this season. Be it through social media or their presence at the stadium, the Blasters fans have been the talking point of ISL 2016 across the country. From commentators to former football players have praised the support Kerala fans have shown towards their team lead by Steve Coppell.

However, Kerala Blasters’ fantastic win over NorthEast United FC that saw them seal a place in semi-finals was soured by a pitch invasion and crowd trouble.

“I’m yet to get exact details on the incident. But if something like that has happened, I want to request everyone to not do these things. The whole world will be watching our games and these are not the right things to do as it brings disrepute to our stadium and fans. If you’ve done these things, please don’t in the future and please be nice to everyone. You’ll are the best fans,” said Vineeth, who has scored an amazing five goals and assisted three in the six matches for Kerala Blasters.

It was widely reported that after the final whistle against NorthEast United, few fans jumped over from stands on the pitch. A particular stand saw the wrath of the fans who broke all the chairs and threw them on the pitch before police could bring the situation under control.
