Real Madrid youngster, Marco Asensio became the first Real Madrid player to score in three separate competitions this season. The 20-year-old found the back of the net in Real’s 5-1 drubbing of Legia Warsaw in their Champions League group stage on Tuesday.

Making his Champions League debut, the Spaniard, who had also managed to score in his La Liga and UEFA Super Cup debuts, scored the third goal for the defending Champions after Gareth Bale had opened the scoring.

In the process, Asensio has beaten his much-fancied team-mates including Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, to score a goal in all three tournaments this season.

The attacking midfielder was signed up by the Spanish giants back in 2014 in a £3 million deal from Mallorca, but remained at the club on loan. Last season, he was loaned out to Espanyol, where he scored only four goals in 34 league appearances.

This year, however, the talented youngster's services were retained by Los Blancos and he has not looked back since. He also made his senior debut for the Spanish national team earlier this year.

His rise to the top at Real has also contributed to the team’s cause, as they have started to pick up the pace in the league after a rather cautious start. Real, currently second on the league table behind Atletico Madrid, will look to assert their dominance in the coming few weeks.

The Los Blancos will next take on Athletic Bilbao in their league fixture on Sunday.
