Michy Batshuayi was the unlikely hero for Chelsea as his late goal secured the club a 1-0 win away to West Brom. The result also mean that Chelsea have won the Premier League crown with two games to spare. Elsewhere, Ross Barkley found the net for Everton as they beat Watford.

Following their 3-0 home win against Middlesbrough on Monday, Chelsea were aware that three points from the remaining three games would give them the title. Antonio Conte’s men stepped onto the Hawthorns pitch last night hoping to seal the deal for the Blues at the earliest.

West Brom threatened to spoil the party early on when Salomon Rondon's flicked header had to be tipped over the crossbar by Thibaut Courtois inside the first 25 seconds. However, Chelsea took charge of proceedings thereafter as they dominated the ball.

The home side continued to hold firm in defense and themselves looked a threat on the counter. Chelsea continued their search for their title-winning goal in the second half and it was only West Brom keeper Ben Foster’s heroics in goal that kept Victor Moses’ shot out just after the restart.

Nacer Chadli had the best chance for the hosts, but the Belgian dragged his shot just wide of the far post. The resoluteness of West Brom’s defense saw Conte withdraw Pedro and Eden Hazard for Batshuayi and Willian. And the move paid dividends as Batshuayi stabbed home a cross from Cesar Azpilicueta in the 82nd minute to secure Chelsea the title.

In the other game, Barkley’s goal in the 56th minute gave Everton the win against Watford.
