Rodrigo Moreno on Atletico Madrid's radar ahead of transfer deadline
Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno, with a proposal coming in the next few hours for the amount of €60 million. In order to fulfil their attacking line along Diego Costa and Joao Felix, the Spanish international is close to joining the Colchoneros.
Diego Simeone's interest Rodrigo, alongside the good relations between his agent Jorge Mendes and Valencia's owner Peter Lim, have made this a very easy negotiation for both parties. The 28-year-old is set to move to Madrid in a bulky deal, completing what has been a summer rebuild for one of the best teams in the world.
Diego Costa's most recent injury history could have been a decisive factor to bring in one of the most prolific strikers in La Liga, as he had another setback in his latest match against Juventus which will cause him to miss the start of the season.
Other teams across Europe tried their luck with Valencia FC about Moreno's availability, Everton and Napoli being the major names, but bumped into the price tag Los Che were asking for, according to Goal. His goal tally dropped off last season, but still, he managed to score 15 goals in 51 appearances, saving his club from relegation zone directly to Champions League access.
With Diego Simeone leading the charge, the Spanish player could take another leap in his game, involving himself in the best strikers in the world conversation.
