I-League | Real Kashmir-East Bengal match moved from Srinagar to Delhi
On the back of security forces asking AIFF not to host any football matches in Srinagar, the federation has decided to move the Real Kashmir-East Bengal match to New Delhi. The matter was discussed at the League committee meeting in New Delhi and Real Kashmir themselves asked to shift the venue.
After Minerva Punjab failed to get the security assurances from the AIFF, which forced them not to travel for the match, East Bengal
“RKFC informed in writing that in view of the current uncertainty prevailing in Kashmir due to Article 35A, they want to play their forthcoming Hero I-League match against Quess East Bengal on February 28,
However, there is no certainty regarding the Minerva Punjab-Real Kashmir match as the League committee said that, the AIFF Executive Committee will take a decision on that as RKFC in their letter reiterated that this uncertainty was not prevalent in Srinagar for the period from February 16-19, 2019.
“The Committee gave a hearing to representatives from both Real Kashmir FC, and Minerva Punjab FC over MPFC not turning up in Srinagar on February 18,
The AIFF has also announced that the qualifiers for the Super Cup will be played in Bhubaneswar on March 15 and 16 while the final round of the tournament will be played from March 29 to April 13, 2019.
