Former Inter manager Antonio Conte, who worked with Achraf Hakimi during his time at Inter, has revealed that the Moroccan's dream is to play for Real Madrid again. The Italian manager also reflected on the full back's shortcomings the previous season and what he has to do to be world-class.

Antonio Conte who worked with the Moroccan international during his stint with Inter believes that the 22-year-old is destined to return to the Santiago Bernabeu and represent Madrid as a key player. The Morocco international lit up European football during a two-year loan at Dortmund with his impressive displays catching the eye of many top European clubs.

Conte sanctioned the acquisition during his stint with the Italian club and Hakimi was signed by Inter on a five-year contract for a reported fee of €40 million. The Moroccan went on to make 45 appearances for the Serie A side while scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists across all competitions. The Moroccan was an instrumental part of Inter's first Scudetto glory after eleven years. Hakimi's exploits convinced PSG to sign him from Inter in the 2021 summer for a reported fee of  €60 million-plus €11 million in add-ons.

Conte reveals that the Moroccan international has further ambitions to achieve in his future as well as several obstacles that he had to overcome during his time at Inter.

"Psychologically, Hakimi suffered a little bit from last year's games. I remember those two games very well. From that point on, he worked a lot and I saw a young player who wanted to learn how to ”, Conte told Sky Sport Italia.

"He understood that what he was doing attacking-wise was not enough; now he is among the best in the world. If he keeps working on his final ball, he can be world-class. His dream is to play for Real Madrid again as a key player," he added.
