Erling Haaland reflects on Manchester City's recent struggles, emphasizing that the tough period has fueled the team's motivation. After a tough run of one win in 13 matches, City has now secured three consecutive victories. Haaland, with 111 goals in 125 appearances, credits the team's hunger and manager Pep Guardiola's drive as key factors in their recovery.

Manchester City has been currently going through a tough transition phase after a period of relentless success. Despite winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League Treble in Haaland’s first season, and following it up with the UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and a fourth successive top-flight title, the team has struggled recently.

After just one win in 13 matches, City has bounced back with three consecutive victories over Leicester City, West Ham, and Salford City. Haaland, with 111 goals in 125 appearances, credits the challenging period for reigniting the team's hunger and motivation. On this, Haaland said:

“We are used to winning here, so it has been really weird over the last couple of months. I think maybe it has been good for us and to get this feeling. To get something burning inside of you to keep on going. It feels good [to have won the last three], it has been a great last week and we are all happy. We keep going. When you lose, you can lose your confidence and suddenly we started losing. It is a winning club here and if you just look at the last ten years there haven’t been many games lost. It has been weird, but it has been giving me motivation and the hunger in my belly to keep going, to get better and to perform.”

He emphasized that despite injuries, there are no excuses and that a strong mentality and a determined manager have been key in the recovery. Haaland also stressed that City does not need to change tactics but must focus on small margins and the form of the team to continue their successful path.
