PKL 2019 | Four-day break helped us in comeback, states Jasveer Singh

UP Yoddha coach Jasveer Singh has asserted that the break they had after their two consecutive losses helped the team regroup and resulted in a comeback against U Mumba last evening. Jasveer also talked about the new combinations and the performance of the raiders in the game against Mumba.

The performance of UP Yoddha's defence helped them clinch the game against U Mumba last night as they scored a total of 13 tackle points as compared to Mumba’s 11. The most points were by Sumit who got six points in the last game. Before this match, UP Yoddha had lost two matches with big margins which resulted in them being in the last team on the points table.

“Our new talents are mostly in defence and in the two matches that we have lost so far, those combinations made a few errors. But the four day break we got after coming to Mumbai gave us a chance for planning and making new combinations, which performed well today and helped us win,” UP Yoddha coach Jasveer Singh said in the post-match press conference.

Even if the defenders were able to do well, the raiding department still needs to find their rhythm. They were collectively able to score only 10 points which is a reason of concern for UP Yoddha. The most points in raiding were scored by Monu Goyat which was only six. Even though Rishank Devadiga made a comeback in the team, he was only able to score two points in 14 raid attempts.

“Raiders will also start to perform very soon. Right now, things are a bit slow, it’s a slow game. Whoever raids swiftly though will get points,” Jasveer signed off.
