Indian trap shooter Seema Tomar registered her second best finish in a World Cup on Saturday as she finished fifth in the women's trap event at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in San Marino. In the men’s trap event, Kynan Chenai and Manavjit Singh Sandhu finished 24th and 38th respectively.

Seema shot an impressive 72 out of 75 in the qualification round, and finished second to enter the final rounds. However, she failed to continue the momentum,  and managed only 8 out of 15 in the semi-final round before settling for the fifth position. Australian Emma Elizabeth Cox won the gold in the event, while USA’s Corey Cogdell and France’s Carole Cormenier clinched the silver and bronze medals respectively.

In the men’s trap event, India had a terrible day after all three shooters finished outside the qualification spots for final rounds. Rio Olympics-bound shooters Kynan Chenai and Manavjit Singh Sandhu finished 24th (117) and 38th (115) respectively, while Prithviraj Tondaiman, who shot 117, was placed 28th.
