The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has charged FC Goa with team misconduct and offensive behavior following the fracas took that place on the pitch after the ISL final against Chennaiyin FC.

FC Goa lodged an FIR against Elano after the Chennaiyin midfielder allegedly assaulted their co-owner Dattaraj Salgaonkar after the ISL final at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa. The Brazilian star was taken to the police station, and Elano has been slapped with charges of wrongful restraint under Section 341 of IPC, before being released on bail, reports said.

However, the match commissioner for the final, A K Mamu Koya, submitted a two-page report slamming FC Goa officials for the ruckus. He also mentioned the abusive language used by FC Goa towards Japanese referee Yudai Yamamoto and his two assistants, along with physical threats.

According to PTI, FC Goa have been charged under article 53 of AIFF disciplinary code (team misconduct), under 58 (offensive behaviour), article 60 (threats), and they have been asked to file a reply, as to why AIFF should not take any disciplinary action against them, before January 8.

AIFF has also criticized FC Goa's decision to boycott the prize distribution ceremony, insisting that it brought disrepute to the game, the sponsors and the ISL management, along with Dattaraj Salgaocar's, co-owner of FC Goa, public criticism of the referee.

"Dattaraj Salgaocar of FC Goa engaged in public criticism of ISL/AIFF and match officials and alleged match fixing in the media," the notice published by AIFF stated.
