Former Australia Pacer stated that cricket should be a part of Olympics after citing the success of the sport after it was played in the Commonwealth Games. He also believes that Indian skipper Virat Kohli faces tougher tests when he faces New Zealand and England at home later this year.

Australian fast-bowling legend, Glenn McGrath believes that it would be good to include cricket in Olympics. Speaking about the results of the sport when it was played in the Commonwealth games  back in 1998, in Kuala Lumpur, the Aussie great said, “I liked it when cricket was added to the Commonwealth Games. Even though I missed out due to an injury, it felt great to see the cricketers at the Commonwealth village,” reported CricBuzz.

“With the advent of rugby sevens, I can't see why cricket shouldn't be allowed in the Olympics,” he said.

Speaking about Virat Kohli’s performance in the West Indies Test series, McGrath thinks Kohli was not at his best with the bat. “I don't think Virat has had the best series against West Indies. He hasn't scored as many runs as we would have wanted him to score,” he said.

He also expressed that the current West Indian side is not one among the best teams currently and India's real test awaits them at home later this year. “The West Indies are not the Test team they used to be. India have played well and will take confidence from the victory. But then, winning the Test series against Windies is probably not a true indication of how good this Indian Test team is,” McGrath said.

He also believes that the Indian pitches need to have some grass left on them, when Duleep Trophy will be played under floodlights and with a pink ball, later this month.  “Back home, we found out that if we don't leave a little grass on the wicket, the pink ball gets ripped a bit quickly. So in subcontinent conditions, it will be interesting to see what sort of wickets they produce and how the ball holds up,” he said about his experience in Australia.

Speaking about the future of day/night Tests and use of pink balls, McGrath said, “Pink-ball cricket is the way forward. If it's successful in India, then it will be happy days for the game. But it's going to be tough to get the conditions right,” reported CricBuzz.
