Virat joins elite list of three double-centuries in a year
After completing his double-century against England, Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli has become the fifth player to score three double-centuries in a calendar year. Previously, Sir Donald Bradman, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, and Brendon McCullum have achieved this incredible feat.

Kohli has also become the first Indian batsman to score three double centuries in a calendar year. Earlier, Virat has struck his first double ton in July against West Indies at Antigua and later, a fantastic 211 against New Zealand in Indore to take India to a series victory.
On his way to this record, Virat also crossed 1000-run landmark in Tests, 2000 runs in a calendar year across all formats and 4000 career Test runs.
His partner, Haryana all-rounder Jayant Yadav also scored a well-compiled century and helped Virat big-time to take India to a brilliant position. In the process, he also became the first Indian No. 9 to score a century in Test cricket.
