Sourav Ganguly, who is regarded as India’s most aggressive Test captain and the man who forged a world-beating unit after taking over as skipper in 2000, has said Virat Kohli is twice as aggressive as he was as Test captain.

“His aggression is two-times more than mine,” Ganguly told IANS on the sidelines of the Sourav Ganguly Foundation and Sourav Ganguly Cricket School launch in Kolkata.

Kohli became the first Indian captain to win five successive Test series. A 2-1 away victory over Sri Lanka in 2015 was followed by a 3-0 home series win against South Africa. This year saw a 2-0 away series victory in West Indies, followed by a 3-0 rout of New Zealand at home and the team has already sealed the ongoing five-Test series against England 3-0 with the final Test starting in Chennai on Friday, Dec 16.

Ganguly, who is president of Cricket Association of Bengal, said his new cricket school would provide free coaching to lesser-privileged children in different district schools of the state.

“Through PitchVision we promise to take cricket in West Bengal to the next level. We will appoint 100-150 coaches to help in the training of various kids from different schools who will be associated with us. Free coaching will also be given to cricketers who are not financially strong,” he said.
