It is not pleasant viewing : Alastair Cook on Pakistanâs push-up celebrations
After securing a 75-run win at Lordâs against England in the 1st Test of 4-match series, Pakistan players celebrated their win by performing push-ups. But, England skipper Alastair Cook admitted that âit was not pleasant viewingâ and said that they will use it as a motivation in the coming games.
Similar to skipper Misbah-ul-Haqâs celebration after scoring a Test century on the first day, Pakistan team lined-up on the outfield after the securing the win and did salutes and push-ups in honour of the soldiers, who trained them during a pre-tour camp back home.
The cricketing world went gaga over the celebrations, but England skipper Alastair Cook, who ended up on the wrong side of the result, was not impressed.
âItâs never nice to lose at Lordâs and see the opposition like they were at the end,â he said. âWeâll use that as motivation,â said Cook, reported Daily Mail.
âI didnât take offence, but certainly at that moment in time itâs not pleasant for the first 20 minutes when youâve just lost a game of cricket. Theyâre entitled to do what they want. Obviously, itâs united them and it shows what a challenge weâve got in the next game. But the cricketing godsâŠâ
