Harbhajan Singh supports Udta Punjab; wants drug-free state

Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has reacted to the controversy surrounding Bollywood movie ‘Udta Punjab’, which has been facing censorship issues. The off-spinner took to Twitter and spoke his mind about the movie, which is based on the sensitive topic of drugs and its abuse in the state of Punjab.

The film directed by Abhishek Chaubey has been in the news lately for its run-in with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie, which deals with the growing problem of drug abuse in Punjab, received support from numerous celebrities, and the latest to react on the controversy is Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh. The Turbanator on Tuesday took to Twitter and expressed his views on the movie. He asked what is wrong if the movie is depicting the realities of drug problems in Punjab. Harbhajan, who has held the rank of Superintendent in Punjab police, also added that everybody wants Punjab to be a drug-free state and that the state is known for better things like love, peace, brotherhood, culture respect and freedom.
