Heather Knight helped the English team by playing an anchor role to score 39, while Freya Kemp gave a late cameo by scoring 27 runs off 15 balls. This helped England Women to score 161/6 in 20 overs. 

New Zealand Women had an aggressive start to their chase, as Isabella Gaze and Sophie Devine went on to add 42 runs in just five overs. Lauren Bell was able to break this stand as she dismissed Gaze, while Sophie Ecclestone went on to take the wicket of the danger batter, Sophie Devine. Melie Kerr led the team from the front along with Maddy Green, as they stitched a 55-run partnership. 

The turning point in this game arrived when Charlie Dean took the wicket of Melie Kerr at 46. Now New Zealand Women needed 31 runs off the last 3 overs, and this is where England Women executed their plans well. Lauren Bell bowled some precise yorkers, and Sophie Ecclestone conceded just six runs in the final over. New Zealand finished at the score of 143/7, giving England a win by 18 runs.
