Indian captain Virat Kohli has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation drive, calling it the “greatest move in history of Indian politics”. Earlier, Virender Sehwag also tweeted his say on the demonetisation move, which was met with a lot of flak from the Twitterati.

While opinion has been divided on the demonetization issue with citizens facing numerous problems even as half of them have reconciled the short-term difficulties with the long-term good, Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli thinks it is the greatest political move he has ever seen.

“For me, it is the greatest move I have seen in the history of Indian politics by far, hands down. I have been so impressed by it. It’s unbelievable what’s happening,” said Kohli in a press conference ahead of the second Test in Visakhapatnam.

The 28-year old also recalled an incident post the Prime Minister's announcement on November 8th.

“I was actually going to pay my hotel bills in Rajkot and I was taking out the old money and I forgot that it isn’t of any use anymore.”

“I could have actually signed on it and given it to people, they are that useless now,” he added.

While many others expressed their take on the demonetisation move in their own way, former cricketer Virender Sehwag tried a bold tweet on the issue by comparing it with Indian soldiers.

This did not bode well with the public, as Sehwag, who usually trolls others on Twitter, got trolled back.
