The third ODI between India and New Zealand, which is scheduled to be played on October 19 in Delhi, is now postponed by a day due to the Karva Chauth festival. DDCA has sent a letter to the BCCI pointing to the lower ticket sales that could result during the festival observed in North India.

In a statement to the IANS, Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) vice president CK Khanna confirmed that the BCCI has accepted DDCA's request for the third ODI between India and New Zealand to be played on October 20 after it was initially scheduled to be played on October 19.

“I requested BCCI to postpone the match due to Karva Chauth which was agreed. Now instead of October 19 the match will take place on October 20,” CK Khanna said.

Reportedly, DDCA had written a letter to BCCI Secretary Ajay Shirke intimating the board about the practical difficulties in organising the match on a festival day that is prevalent in North India.

The ODI series between India-New Zealand is scheduled to be played from October 16 to October 29.
