BCCI asks PCB to move 2020 Asia Cup from Pakistan

After India were forced to move the 2018 Asia Cup from India and hosted it in UAE due to the rising political tension with Pakistan, the BCCI has now asked the PCB to move the next edition of the tournament out of Pakistan. If that happens, UAE will host two back to back Asia Cup tournaments.
The ongoing political tension between India and Pakistan has been a cause of concern for the bilateral cricketing ties to resume with neither side having played a full series against the other in over a decade and India not having played in Pakistan since June 2008. Recently PCB’s claims of BCCI "legally breaching" an agreement to play bilateral series in 2014 and 2015 also went against their favour in front of ICC’s dispute resolution model. Now, that also came in the way of Pakistan hosting any matches involving India as they have been told by BCCI to change the venue for the event.
"Playing in Pakistan is out of question and so the hosts have been told to think about an alternative arrangement," a source said TOI.
Although Pakistan is still stating that their country is safe and Asia Cup will be a grand opportunity for cricket to return to Pakistan, India is all but sure to not give them the chance.Â
Earlier, BCCI also didn't send their representative for the ACC's AGM in Lahore due to "security concerns" and existing political tension between neighbouring nations.
