The BCCI has made a slight change to the schedule for the upcoming edition of the IPL as due to the Karnataka elections on May 12, as Royal Challengers Bangalore has swapped their home game against Delhi Daredevils. RCB will now play their home game on April 21st and travel Delhi on May 12.

After the BCCI declared the initial schedule for the 11th edition of the IPL, it has been changed twice as due to the repair work at the Chandigarh Airport during a specific time. Kings XI Punjab swapped their Mohali matches with their another home ground Indore.

Now, in a second change in the schedule, the BCCI announced that Delhi and Bangalore will swap their fixtures against each other due to the upcoming Karnataka elections. The Karnataka election will take place on May 12 in all 224 constituencies of the Legislative Assembly of Karnataka and the counting of votes and announcement of results will finish on May 15.

So, Bengaluru will not host any IPL games during the voting and announcement phases and the team will return to their home ground to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last home game on May 17.

The Delhi team will now begin their campaign on April 8 by playing against Kings XI Punjab in the latter’s home ground Mohali, and Virat Kohli-led Bangalore will kick-start their journey with an away match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata on the same date.
