ICC World Cup 2019 | Michael Vaughan urges Sanjay Manjrekar, via Instagram, to unblock him on Twitter
Michael Vaughan took the banter saga between him and Sanjay Manjrekar to Instagram to ask the latter to unblock him on Twitter. When Manjrekar blocked his most insufferable critic on Twitter, he mustâve thought it to be the end of the matter regarding the Indianâs comments on Ravindra Jadeja.
The hilarious duel between Manjrekar and Vaughan came to a rather sad end when the former blocked the latter on Twitter. Manjrekar has been criticised heavily, and perhaps most persistently, by the former England skipper for his âbits and piecesâ comment on Jadeja. Manjrekar had stated that heâd rather see specialists in batting and bowling play in the lineup.Â
However, since that comment, Jadeja has not only replied strongly on Twitter, he silenced the critic with two superb performances in the following two matches. He returned with figures of 1/40, and 1/34 against Sri Lanka, and New Zealand respectively. Both batting lineups struggled to even rotate strike off his bowling.Â
Vaughan took to Twitter constantly to troll Manjrekar over his comments. Manjrekar made a slight pivot in his statements while commenting in Indiaâs game against Sri Lanka. He moved from âbits and piecesâ to âstreet-smart cricketer.âÂ
Ahead of the semi-final clash, the Indian commentator had predicted the Indian side for the clash, which included Jadeja. Vaughan immediately replied: "I see you have picked that bits and pieces cricketer!!!"
Manjrekar then replied to Vaughan's tweet, saying: "âPredicted' my dear Vaughan...not âmy' team."
However, the tweet that triggered the blocking from Manjrekar came during the semi-final clash. Jadejaâs superb bowling resulted in him knocking over opener Henry Nicholls, and tying down the runs from the bat of Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor, two of the Kiwisâ finest players. Vaughan immediately wrote on Twitter, saying: âBloody hell Bits & Piece can Spin it.âÂ
It seems Manjrekar had enough. According to the Englishman, the former Indian cricketer then blocked him on Twitter. Vaughan announced this first, and then in a sarcastic manner, begged him to unblock him.Â
