IPL 2020 | No hard feelings at all for KKR, reveals Chris Lynn
Chris Lynn made it clear that he has no hard feelings for KKR, after the side released him, as he pointed out that he has a good relationship with players and support staff and will look to maintain it. Lynn, who missed out on a ton in the T10 league, hoped that he will soon get another shot at it.
Chris Lynn is currently in the limelight after he went on to score the highest individual score in the history of the T10 league as his unbeaten 91 off only 30 balls helped Maratha Arabians post a total of 138 in their quota of 10 overs. His heroics would have left Kolkata Knight Riders lamenting their decision to release the Aussie hard hitter ahead of the IPL 2020 auctions.
Lynn, who was among the 13 players released by the east Indian franchise, clarified that he doesn't have any hard feelings for the side. He also pointed out that he would like to maintain the good relationships he has with the players and the support staff.
"I have got a really good relationship with the KKR owners, support staff, head coach. There are no hard feeling there at all. More important is keeping those relationships nice and strong," TOI quoted Lynn saying so.
Lynn’s thunderous innings, which was studded with nine fours and seven sixes, helped his side tame Team Abu Dhabi quite comfortably by 24 runs but the destructive opener missed out on the first-ever ton in the shortest format of the game. Talking about him missing out on a ton, he said that he will be getting plenty more chances as the tournament goes on.
"When you get closer to a hundred, you want to get there. But at the end of the day, the guy at the other end was hitting boundaries as well. So to get to 138 on that wicket was a really good job. Would have been nice to get first hundred of T10 but there are plenty of games left, so will hopefully get another opportunity to do that."
The Australian opener acknowledged the fact that better players than him have been released by their franchises as he shared that he understands that KKR is desperate to notch up their third title. He also added that he will be looking forward to more fireworks from his side in the tournament so as to strengthen his case before the auction.
"There are players twice as good as me that have been released from franchises, so KKR want to win the tournament and that's the priority for (head coach) Brendon McCullum. The auctions (are) coming up, so if I happen to score a few more runs and be fresh in the mind of some coaches, that's a positive."
