The first is always special and so it was for Arjun Tendulkar when he played his first game of IPL 2024 against LSG at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Just like any other person, the young gun was filled with enthusiasm and was seen limping eagerly for an LBW appeal, only to get humiliated at the end.

As the toss favoured the home side, Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians leader elected to field first in their curtain closer. Following a first-over wicket off Nuwan Thusara to remove Devdutt Padikkal for a golden duck, Marcus Stoinis entered the fray with Arjun Tendulkar sharing the ball from the other end. The son of Sachin Tendulkar almost produced a wicket and therefore took to an animated appeal and early celebration only to see DRS overturn the original decision.Ā

The third ball of the second over saw Arjun spray a length delivery that jagged back into the right-hander who tried to whip it away. As the ball beat the inside edge of the bat and thudded the pad, the bowler was seen in an animated appeal. Arjun was limping desperately for the wicket and the on-field umpire, Rohan Pandit followed it up by raising his finger lately. However, Stoinis promptly opted for the DRS, and the ball was seen to be missing the stumps due to elevation despite two reds. The replays showed that Arjun even celebrated the wicket before the DRS outcome by replicating a Shikhar Dhawan thigh-five. As the final verdict came out to be opposite of what Arjun though, the Twittverse could not hold back rom buzzing through the incident.
