Rishabh Pant and stump mics are a match made in heaven and the love affair continued on Tuesday during the LSG vs RCB match in Lucknow. With the LSG skipper losing balance going after a widish delivery, Jitesh Sharma tried stumping him and the batter came up with a witty response.

‌After being put into bat, Lucknow Super Giants had a good start against Royal Challengers Bengaluru with Rishabh Pant walking in at number three, ahead of Nicholas Pooran. The move worked for LSG as Pant got off to an excellent start, unlike the other matches in this season, smashing a six and two fours in Yash Dayal’s first over and LSG raced to 55/1.

With Mitchell Marsh also firing at the other end, the duo took the side to the 100-run mark in the 10th over. Soon the 100-run partnership also came up in just 55 balls, in the 12th over. With RCB exhausting all options to break the partnership, skipper Jitesh Sharma went to his lead spinner Krunal Pandya to work some magic.

He started tightly giving away just three runs in the first four balls of the next over as Pant was badly looking for a boundary or two to finish the over. And as a result, he went after a widish short delivery outside off and couldn’t reach the ball even after stretching full length. Losing his balance he took a tumble inside the crease but Jitesh whipped off the bails to try his luck and went for the appeal.

Pant, who has a knack of coming up with funny one-liners, was surprised by the RCB stand-in skipper’s appeal and was quick to pull his leg. The LSG skipper went into his counterpart’s ear and said that he was way inside when he fell.
