Wayne Rooney : I don't really listen to what a lot of people are saying
Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney, who has faced a lot of criticism of late, has expressed his disregard for what people say about him, because he believes that most of it is 'rubbish'. The Englishman has also welcomed the EFL Cup draw against Man City, citing it as an opportunity for revenge.

There has been a lot of debate surrounding Wayne Rooney's role in the team. Various managers have used him in various positions across the midfield and upfront, but Rooney believes that he can play wherever the team needs him to.
"I've done that [played in different positions] throughout my career," he said. "I feel I can play in all positions but I think the manager has made it clear either I'll play up front or in the number 10 and that's where he sees me playing," he added.
After three consecutive defeats, Manchester United scrapped past Northampton in the EFL and they have now been drawn against Man City, who beat them 1-2 at Old Trafford earlier this month, in the next round. Rooney has welcomed the draw and labeled it as an opportunity to take revenge.
"For me, I think it's the perfect draw. With what happened in the league, it's a chance for us to get revenge for that result," Rooney said.
