Reports | James Maddison still on Manchester United’s radar
Premier League club Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Leicester City midfielder James Maddison and might launch an offer for him in the upcoming summer transfer window. The English midfielder has had a bright start this season and has become a hot topic after his recent performances.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be keen on James Maddison reports the Daily Mail, a player with an abundance of creativity, and the Leicester City midfielder has been linked with a move in the past. Maddison’s magnificent performances last season saw some of the biggest Premier League clubs aware of his potential, with the 22-year-old continuing in the same vein this season. The Red Devils are desperate to add energy and imagination to their midfield, with their entire offence revolving around Paul Pogba at the moment.
This has caused a few problems for the club and the Daily Mail reports that scouts from the club have already started monitoring Maddison ahead of a potential move next season. Reports add that with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer successfully adding defender Harry Maguire, the club feels that the former Leicester City man could act as an interpreter and help persuade Maddison to sign for them.
The Manchester United target has created more chances (111) than any other player in the Premier League since the beginning of the 2018-19 season with Ryan Fraser in second place (99) and that's one of the reasons the club are after him. The Red Devils drew 1-1 against Arsenal and the game lacked creativity and imagination, which is something that Leicester City cannot say. Reports from the Evening Standard also reports that Borussia Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho has been shortlisted alongside Maddison, as Manchester United look to compete amongst the league's bigwigs once again.
