PKL 2019 | Joginder Narwal’s Super Tackle was pivotal, says Krishan Kumar Hooda
Dabang Delhi Coach Krishan Kumar Hooda, while talking about the match against Telugu Titans, has said that Joginder Narwal’s super tackle, when they were at the verge of an all-out, was crucial. Hooda also heaped praise on young raider Naveen Kumar who was the top scorer for the team.
Dabang Delhi won against Telugu Titans in their opening match of PKL Season 7. It was a very close match which could have gone either way so the team from the national capital will be happy as they got a win to kick start their campaign in the tournament. There were a number of crucial moments in the match where it looked like Telugu Titans would come out as victorious especially when Suraj Desai made the super raid taking out two players and grabbing a bonus simultaneously.
Debutant Suraj was phenomenal on the mat as he scored 18 raid points in 15 attempts. He was the key man for the Titans in the match as he helped the raiding department which was struggling in the previous two matches.
Another crucial moment in the match was the super tackle by Dabang Delhi skipper Joginder Narwal. He tackled Farhad Milaghardan when there were only five minutes left on the clock.
“Joginder Singh Narwal’s Super Tackle was pivotal. That changed the course of the contest and we just kept building on from there,” Dabang Delhi coach Hooda said in the post-match press conference.
Another bright spot for the Dabang Delhi was the performance of young gun Naveen Kumar. The raider scored 14 raid points in the match and was the leading raider for the team. Last season, he had scored a total of 172 raid points in 22 matches. The coach was quite delighted with Naveen's performance in the first game of the Delhi side.
“I can say with utmost confidence, that Naveen will be among the top raiders at the end of the season. That’s all I want to say about his performance,” Dabang’s coach concluded.
