Pawan Sehrawat, after his match-winning performance against U Mumba, revealed that the coach had asked him to go and express himself on the mat and not take a lot of pressure. Meanwhile, coach Randhir Singh said that the points U Mumba got in the initial phase was due to the errors of the Bulls.

Sehrawat registered his first Super 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League last evening and ensured that the defending champions came from behind and thrashed U Mumba at the latter’s home venue. After the game, a very happy Pawan explained about the earlier matches of the tournament where he was under some pressure and also talked about coach Randhir Singh’s advice before the Mumba game.

“First few matches I was taking a lot of pressure on myself but this match before the game, our coach told me not to take pressure and just go out there and express myself. He told me taking pressure is the captain’s job, you just go out there and express yourself,” Pawan said during the press conference.

After winning against Patna Pirates by just a couple of points in the first game, the Bulls had lost their second against Gujarat Fortunegiants in a rematch of the last year’s final. However, a win against U Mumba that too in Mumbai would have done a world of good to their confidence level. Coach Randhir revealed his advice to the Bengaluru boys before the Mumba game during the post-match press conference.

“I just told the boys this is the first phase of the tournament after our loss in the last game. And we lost by just few points. Plus, we had a five-day rest period, where we introspected, and lot of questions were brought up by the team. We’ve practised as well, so we hope for better in the future. I told them one thing (about tonight’s match), both teams’ defence is strong but our raiders – Pawan and Rohit – are better than theirs,” explained Randhir.

“At the start of the game, I don’t think U Mumba took many points. Most of their points came because of our errors. Our defence went to tackle players where there were no tackles to be made. But Pawan and Rohit told me at half-time that don’t worry, we’ll do well. And last year also we won many games after half-time.”
