WATCH | Robin Uthappa pulls off an MS Dhoni

Indian cricket fans have been spoilt when it comes to the level of wicket keeping having watched MS Dhoni pull off some of the greatest stumpings in the history of the sport. Against Pune, however, it was Robin Uthappa who took the spotlight with a stumping that Dhoni would have been proud of.

Having missed an Anjinkya Rahane stumping opportunity in the 10th over of the game, Uthappa was keen on rectifying his mistake and did just that with a moment of brilliance. With Pune cruising at 107/1 after 13 overs, Kolkata were in desperate need of a wicket and Gambhir brought back Sunil Narine to test the Smith-Rahane duo. On the 3rd ball of the 14th over, Rahane was beaten by Narine and Uthappa was quick to take the bails off.

At first glance, it appeared that the Pune batsman had quite easily made his crease stretching his back leg, but the replays told a different story. While Rahane did manage to drag his foot back into the crease, after getting there, his foot went up in the air for a split second. Uthappa was quick to remove the bails at the perfect time and Rahane had to make the long walk back to the pavilion.

Not only did Uthappa send Rahane packing, but the 31-year-old then dismissed Dhoni and Manoj Tiwary also with stumpings.
