Bengal's all-rounder Rumeli Dhar has found a place in the ongoing five-match T20I series against South Africa as a replacement for her state-mate Jhulan Goswami. Interestingly, Dhar was out of favour of the selection committee for almost six years and got a sweet surprise with the recall.

The Indian womenā€™s team is in South AfricaĀ for a limited-overs tour and handed a 2-1 loss to the hosts in the ODI series. However, ahead of the start of the T20IĀ series, the medical team announced the unavailability of India's most successful bowler Jhulan Goswami, who injured her heel ahead of the third ODI match, for the entire series.

But that couldn't deter India from winning the first two games of the T20I series. However,Ā to boost team's pace-bowling unit, ahead of the third game, former cricketer Hemlata Kala-led selection committee recalled Dhar for the remaining matches.

The 34-year-old has featured in four Tests, 78 ODIs and 15 T20Is for India. She played her last international game for the country in 2012 in 50-overs game against Australia in Mumbai. On the list of Indiaā€™s all-time leading wicket-takers, she spotted on the seventh position with 63 wickets. In her last couple of T20I games, she opened theĀ bowling with Goswami and batting with Punam Raut.

After getting a 2-0 lead in the series, India will play their next match in Johannesburg on February 18 followed by next two games in Centurion and Cape Town on February 21 and 24 respectively.
