There are good reviews, there and bad reviews, and then there's the review that England took against Pat Cummins. After the umpire ruled a caught-behind decision not-out, England optimistically went for a review, but to their dismay, replays showed the ball missing the bat by at least two feet.

DRS has been a hot topic of discussion in this Ashes, not only due to the degrading standards of umpiring but at times, also due to the players' ability and inability to use the technology properly. While players from both teams have managed to successfully overturn the majority of the decisions due to their smart and quick thinking, they have at the same time proved that their usage at times can be questionable, if not laughable.

In one such "laughable" incident today, England took what could potentially go down as the worst review ever taken in the history of cricket. On the third ball of the 73rd over, a fired-up Jofra Archer, who had just delivered a nasty blow to Steve Smith almost breaking his left arm, came steaming into Pat Cummins, in an attempt to bounce out the Aussie.

As Archer banged in the delivery short, the ball fizzled past Cummins, who found himself in a very uncomfortable position. The English players went up in unison as soon as the keeper Jonny Bairstow caught the ball, but the umpire Aleem Dar seemed completely uninterested, turning the appeal down. However, skipper Joe Root, who was convinced that the ball took a piece of Cummins' glove, went for the review after consulting with his teammates.

However, the English players, who were eagerly waiting for the replay, were left massively disappointed, as ultra-edge showed that the bat was nowhere close to the ball, and missed it by at least a couple of feet - both high and wide. All the English players could do was just laugh off the incident, realizing the stupidity of their combined mishap.
